Emily & Luke got hitched!

One of my besties from college married her dream man this weekend, a good ole cowboy! Emily and Luke met when we were in college and have been together ever since. They are so cute together and are perfect for one another so it was so much fun to see them get married this weekend. Luke's brother has a ranch with a horse arena out in the country near Arkansas City, KS. Emmy is a country girl and Luke is a cowboy so it was the perfect venue for their big day and we wouldn't have missed it for the world.

We packed Cora up and took her to my in-laws on Saturday morning to stay the night. We packed our stuff and all of Henry's too. Henry is 14.5lbs and has more crap than a 3 ring circus. WHY?!?! I mean seriously Barnum & Bailey ain't got Sh!8 on our load of junk for this nugget. Let's do a little run down shall we?
Henry's 1 nighter vacay list:
  • Pack N Play with sheet
  • white noise machine in case it was loud in the hotel (he sleeps with this at home)
  • heavy blanket he sleeps with
  • sleep sack
  • two pairs of pajamas in case he pukes or poops on one
  • a onesie in case it's too hot to sleep in said jammies
  • like 10 burp rags because he spits up alot
  • 4 bibs for spit ups
  • 2 outfits for the wedding in case he spit up or poop in one
  • shoes for wedding outfits
  • 10 pacifiers (which was good because we had a few casualties.  one hit the hotel floor = trash, and one hit the floor in the horse arena = trash, one probably fell into a parking lot or out of the diaper bag or whatever. I am the type of mom to brush it off or lick it and give it back to him if it's a reasonable place like at home or family's houses but public places and such, they're gone if they drop.
  • diaper bag
  • breast pump with pump bottles, lids etc
  • bottles to feed him out of with nipples and lids
  • cooler bag for pumped milk
  • ice packs in cooler bag
  • two toys for entertainment
  • diapers
  • wipes
  • baby sunscreen
  • nursing cover
  • light weight blanket for outside for sun
  • sun cover for carseat
  • stroller
  • moby wrap just in case
I mean for real, it's ridiculous. But I had spares of everything and nothing bad happened. I just love being prepared. Shocker, I know.

I just love driving through the flint hills. They're beautiful. This was just outside of Emporia.
Henry and me waiting to check in.

We drove the 4 hours (stopping at Braum's for lunch of course) and got there around 1pm, checked into the hotel at 2pm and got ready. All my girls showed up at 3 and we caught up and got ready some more.

Then we headed out to the ranch. It was so beautiful (hot as hell, literally) but beautiful. The wedding was out in the pasture with hay bales to sit on and the rows were lined with galvanized buckets filled with baby's breath. Then there was a big wagon at the front. The girls wore soft blush pink dresses and the boys wore jeans, boots and pink ties to match. Emily was stunning in her dress and we all cried like the hot messes we were. In true Emily and Luke fashion, everyone had cute koozies with beer in them during the wedding.

Henry slept in his carseat for most of it.

Ky Ky, she looked so beautiful.

Covering our cute outfit with a bib :(

He is definitely our son, look at him eyeing that beer can....it was like 5 inches from his face, it just looks closer lol
So cute!

I love the way Henry is looking at Taylor

Little blue family

The morning after, sometimes you just need a sleepover with the girls.

The reception was inside the arena and was amazing. The dirt floor had long white tables and chairs with various wine bottles and mason jars filled with wild flowers and candles. There was a trail mix station to make your own, a horse trough filled with ice and beer and sangria.

The food was amazing ( I wish I got a pic) but they served brisket, cheesy corn, baked beans, texas potatoes and fresh salad. There was a cupcake table with lemon, vanilla and strawberry cupcakes with pink icing and red and white cake pops in an OU design for Luke's groom's "cake".

It was hot but so much fun and we had a blast just being together. Congrats Emily and Luke! We love you!!!
