Happy 6 months Henry!

Happy 6 months Henry!!

Here is the comparison from last month
and from his 1st month to now, he looks so different!

Weight: 16lbs 11oz at his appt last week. (40th percentile)
Length: 27.5" long (85th percentile)
Clothes: He is in 6-9mo stuff now and I've started buying 9-12mo stuff for this winter purely from a length standpoint. His 6 month stuff is baggy in the middle on him but too short. Tall and skinny this kid.
I went shopping for fall clothes. Note to new mommas, all of your baby gift clothing runs out after size 3-6 month and then your kid is naked.... Don't worry, We hit the Carter's sale in the baby wrap and hit the jackpot.

Likes: playing with toys, putting everything in his mouth, "standing up" while we hold him

cereal and eating his pureed fruits and veggies (especially peaches and squash)

 Green beans
Peas

giving hugs and wet sloppy open mouthed kisses!

the ceiling fan, all lights and CORA!

The little mother herself

Two babies to play with. She was in heaven

Morning hang out sesh. She is the one who will get him to start crawling. Guarenteed.

She kisses his feet and runs around him in circles to make him laugh.

He can't get enough of her lately. She walks by him and he starts cracking up laughing at her, I seriously need to submit it to America's funniest home videos.

Dislikes: When his food bowl is empty, He makes this grunting howler monkey sound when he wants more.  Getting bored, and dirty pants.
Sleeping: He still goes to bed around 9-10pm and sleeps until 5am every single night. He takes a nap in the morning for a few hours and another one (usually with momma before I work) from 1-4 each afternoon and then a little catnap after he eats around 5pm. Same as last month. We really have a good schedule down.
He can sleep anywhere, anytime.

This was in the booth at fritz's restaurant, it was so loud, hedidnt care.

Snuggling my cousin

Eating: He has still never had a drop of formula and nurses when I'm home and drinks pumped milk by bottle when I'm at work. He has a wide variety of fruits and veggies we have tried out and ruled out allergies with so far. He has had avacado, green beans, peas, carrots, yellow squash, bananas, peaches, plums, apples and pears. He gets a fruit with breakfast and a veggie with dinner.

Playing: He loves his small toys he can hold and play with. I lay him on the carpet and put his toys all around him and he rolls around forever and grabs them and tries to eat them and gets bored with them and will roll for another one.

Other Milestones: He can sit unassisted for a few minutes or so. He is just sooooo lazy. He can roll front to back and back to front but hates being on his stomach and quickly flips to his back so he doesn't have to hold his big ole head up. He can stand unassisted if he is holding on to something. Like the side of the bathtub or the couch or me.

What Dr. Grossman Said: He said he is doing great developmentally and is strong for his age and size but a little lazy. He said we should start working toward purees 3x/day (a few weeks ago we started working towards two. It's just so hard to do a few meals each day because my schedule is inconsistent with napping and working and such, but it must be done, just means less sleep for momma. Teeth are just around the corner. He could see and feel some progress on the bottom so I got him a few fun teethers and he has been even letting us rub his gums sometimes for 20 minutes at a time. However, he isn't cranky. He just smiles while we do it and coos, I haven't noticed much of a change in him except that he loves to snuggle a little more lately.

These are Nuby Chewbies. He loves them and can chew on all sides and spaces of them.

Henry's 1st sleepover

Henry had his first sleepover!
My friend Kristen from work (who was due the same day as me) married the man of her dreams and wanted someone to keep their little guy safe and loved while they celebrated and enjoyed their day. I was more than happy to watch Carson and let him and Henry have a play date. The boys got to play on the floor together.,...

And try to figure out why there was two babies.

Taylor said, and I quote "two babies isn't that hard" bahahah!

he was lovin it.

Look at the cute little monkeys begging for food!
Overall it was a great time but two babies with different routines and schedules and likes who are only children is a challenge. Even still we were so happy to have him! Congrats Kristen and Andrew!!!!

Hankers goes to the Zoo!

When I got pregnant I seriously could not WAIT to take my baby to the zoo. I dreamed of sunny days walking around pointing out animals and taking pictures and what not. I love the zoo. Taylor and I have been a few times just the two of us and my sister and mom love it too so we all packed up the stroller and went together. In the spring, Henry was too little to care and I was post partum and such, then it got really hot out and I didn't want us all to cook so we waited until fall. Which is it now! The day was perfect it was in the 60's and super sunny. Henry was able to stay awake and enjoy a lot of it and got to nap in the stroller some too! Here are the pictures from our day!

A little grouchy being woken up from our nap but he warmed up really fast.

 Take a snooze through Australia.

He loved watching the jellyfish move

And the penguins swim

I love the reflection of his little face in awe of the penguins swimming right by him.

This one literally got me teary eyed.

The kid loves his Aunt-E

Snoozin with Nana

Photo cred: Taylor took most of the pictures at the Zoo. He is much better with the camera than I am!
I took all of these at home.

We had a fantastic day, we went to Blanc burgers for dinner and then to murray's ice cream for desert and came home and played on the floor. I love sunny cool saturdays with my sweet little family.
