Happy 12 Months Henry!!
Weight: 23lbs 5oz (80th percentile)
Length: 32.5" long (100th percentile) and a 90th percentile head.
Clothes: He is wearing all 12 month clothes and some 18 month stuff too. Everything else is waay too small on him now and I've had to put it all away. I need to get him some bigger shoes too, ones that are better for walking in.
Likes: He is loving cruising around and being busy playing. He got a new pickup truck for his birthday and has had so much fun playing with that. Opening and shutting the door and tailgate and sitting in it. He loves to eat of course and snuggle.
Dislikes: Being away from me. Holy seperation anxiety. He has to be held all the time lately. Little stinker. And apparently napping. See below.
Sleeping: I have a funny feeling he is trying to phase out his second nap. He does them both most days still but he fights them like nobody's business. It's pulling teeth to get them down for both of them. One is usually easier than the other but it just depends on the day which one. Sleeping at night has been fantastic 11-12 hours every night.
Playing: He has been playing with all of his birthday toys and since it's getting warmer, we are gearing up for more outside fun. Bubble machine, baby pool, sidewalk chalk etc.
Other Milestones: We switched him officially to his big boy carseat now. He stands alone for minutes at a time and will cruise along the couch or table and move to a different object that is a few steps away. He will only do about 2-3 unassisted steps at a time and they are more of a falling into the other object motion but he is getting more stable on his feet by the day and will be running in no time I'm sure.
What Dr. Grossman Said: He said "wow, he is a social little guy!" and that he is "right on track with milestones and doing fantastic with growth".
A little update on Henry's kidneys. We talked with the urology team with Children's Mercy where we were sent for his kidney follow up. He will have to have a more extensive kidney scan (tomorrow actually) where he will need to be knocked out to be able to visualize the kidneys and all the related structures and see how they are functioning using contrast and medications. I am nervous because I have not actually spoken to the urologist yet (his follow up appointment will be tomorrow after the scan) and I don't know what to expect. I just hope he isn't scared or away from me for long when he is awake because of the seperation anxiety thing I talked about above. Poor little guy. I will update more when I know more.
